"What an amazing place to stay while in Tuscany! Big rooms, very clean and the most kind hosts who were there everytime to greet you with a smile! We did not have the chance to try the restaurant, but from what we noticed, it is a must! We did try the wine and it was blissfull! "One of my most favourite places in Italy. Came again after five years and was still very pleased by the hospitality and the incredible quality of the seafood and wine. Value for money is just amazing. I realised through booking.com that rooms are available and called the owner who speaks English and German as well directly. I was offered a very reasonable rate for my room and 7 course dinner, grazie mille. Will return next spring for a cycling holiday!"

"This place is the emblem of the fresh fish. Creativity in the kitchen creates art in the plates. Astonishing wine list from local producer to little gems from all over the world. Interiors are recently renovated and give the final touch to this gem of the lucchesia (lucca province). Not to be missed."

"The garden is really nice to sit in. Very nice staff and the food is really good. If you are a wine lover, do ask if you may have a look at there (secret) wine stash. The previous owner (now working there) speaks English and German very well. I really recommend this place for a good dinner and a few glasses of wine."

"When, people have spent,so much time and effort on every facet of the restaurant, you hope you are in for a treat. The lightning is fantastic, a beautiful open fire! Stunning glasses! And a refined restaurant. So let’s begin. A taste from the kitchen, of red onion petals topped with a piece of poached fish, got us underway beautiful. Then the Bread made in house, amazing! stunning focaccia, and the best sourdough I’ve ever eaten. I started with a broccoli soufflé with Parmesan sauce, and crisp, great. My wife had red beans with skate wing, fish cheek, and squid, but starters, were very good. I had the black fish with crisp and purée of Jerusalem artichokes, the fish was perfectly cooked. My wife had local prawns in a broth of baby tomatoes and thyme. I finished with apple gratin, and my wife a coffee, whiskey and chocolate mousse. Great wine list. This restaurant was quite expensive. But a class act! Would we go back? We can’t wait! Top marks"
